Martyn Stonehouse is a heritage sound artist and composer based in Derbyshire. His work explores themes of place, both physically and as part of our digital lives using designed sound pieces, immersive compositions and interactive works.
An active part of the arts and creative sector for over 20 years, he has experience employing a broad range of creative mediums to engage and immerse people in exciting new works, these have included projection mapping, interactive experiences, explorable 3D environments, custom sound installations and immersive storytelling.
His 'Megalithic Transport Network' project is an ongoing arts research practice focussing on our connection to landscape and sense of place in the Peak District and surrounding area, using the sound of modular synthesis, video processing and tape recording as mediums of exploring old pathways, standing stones, guide posts and more.
Martyn also works as a composer for interactive media including games, and has scored a number of titles available via Steam, Xbox and Playstation platforms.
